Daniel Shiel, 88, of McDonald died Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Donnell House of Washington.
He was born January 13, 1929 in Frum, WV, a son of the late William P. and Maude (Smith) Shiel.
Mr. Shiel served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He worked as an ambulance attendant for John J. Kane Hospital in Scott Township until his retirement in January of 1992.
Mr. Shiel was a member of McDonald Methodist Church.
He loved to walk, enjoyed singing and liked to work in his garden.
On September 17, 1955, he married Dorothy Ann Nogasky, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Daniel Dean (Kathy) Shiel and James (Tonya) Shiel, both of Hickory, and David (Amy) Shiel of Chesterfield, VA; two sisters, Lillian (Clyde) Chapel of Langeloth and Laverne (Louie) Rivetti of Aliquippa; two brothers, Paul (Ida) Shiel of Burgettstown and Richard (Darlene) Shiel of Aliquippa; seven grandchildren Karen Sedlitsky, Amanda Scott, Devon, Brennan, Reagan, Jakson and Carson Shiel; and two great grandchildren, Trenton and Macie Scott.
Deceased are two sisters, Jane Ann Nelson and Elizabeth Shiel; and four brothers, William, Edward, James Michael and Donald Shiel.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 27, 2017 with Rev. Sandy Conti, officiating. Burial will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Donnell House, 155 Wilson Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
