Richard H. “Cookie” Cook, 76, of McDonald, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 12, 2018 at the Donnell House, Washington.
He was born in McDonald on October 13, 1941 to the late Robert and Vera (Chambon) Cook.
Mr. Cook was a 1959 graduate of McDonald High School.
He worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for Garin Trucking, Ferri Contracting, MacIntyre Equipment, Weavertown Transport and Casper Colosimo and Son. He was a member of Local Union #66 of the Operating Engineers.
Mr. Cook enjoyed refinishing antique furniture, going to casinos and especially having family and friends at his house.
In addition to his wife, Judy Williamson Cook; he is survived by three sons, Scott of Georgetown, SC, Brian (Renea) and David, both of McDonald; five special grandchildren, Sarah “Pooh”, Stephanie “Teppi”, Taylor “Rental”, Matthew “Matt-too” and Mitchell “Geno”; a brother, Robert of Port Charlotte, FL; and two sisters, Karen (Denny) Cooper and Jill (Robert) Parkison, both of McDonald.
Deceased are a brother, William; and four sisters, Frances Hookey, Jackie Benard, Vera McSuley and Joan Barcoski.
Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Thursday and from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2018. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to be made to the Concordia Hospice of Washington, Donnell House, 10 Leet St., Washington, PA 15301.
