Obituary

George Hugh Yonker

On January 23, 2022, George Hugh Yonker passed into the arms of His Savior, Jesus Christ, surrounded by his family. He was the fourth child born to Elizabeth Palcsak and David Kenneth Yonker in Gallipolis Ohio.

George grew up tinkering, fixing and helping to farm on his father's farm. Later, moving to Coraopolis with his mother, he grew his gift of restoring cars and building.

Marrying Pamela Lynn Reilly on Nov. 9, 1974, who preceded him, they had two children: Clayton Colby, (Danielle) and Casie Colleen who preceded him as well.

George started his contracting business in 1977 where his reputation for quality became his trademark. In his spare time he enjoyed working on old British cars, particularly, Jaguar XKEs, this became his specialty.

On October 14, 2006 he married Kathleen Whiteman DeLucey Styche. Her two sons became his as well, Francis X. DeLucey, (Jen Norkevicus), Daniel J. DeLucey (Brandi Earley).

Later in his life, George fulfilled his absolute dream job of being Pappy to Casie and Colton Yonker, Frankie and Noah DeLucey and Alexa, Wyatt, and Logan DeLucey. These Grandchildren were the pride of his life.

Karen Cleric Ryan held a special place in George's heart after the passing of his daughter. Karen as well as her entire family became part of his family; loved as a daughter.

He is survived by his loving sister Bonnie Broyles, and many nieces and nephews. The farm became the family farm where George produced award-winning hay.

George's greatest joy was spending time with his family. His strongest gift was mentoring. He never let an opportunity go by, whether hands on, life lessons or just a listening ear, he had time for those who needed him. George had a heart of gold for every stray, unwanted and abused animal. Each one became part of the "Pack"!

George was a member of the Hickory Church and served in various capacities. He loved his church and saw how the Lord used it to reach out to his community.

George was a member of the Western PA Triumph Club and Jaguar Club which gave him years of enjoyment. He considered the members family too .George served on the Mount Pleasant Municipal Authority for numerous years until his death. As a member of the Hickory Lions Club, the Lions gave him other ways to serve his community.

Family and Friends will be received at the Hickory UEP Church, 210 Main St, Hickory PA 15340 on Sunday, February 6. Visitation will start at 2:30 pm followed by a celebration of life worship at 4:30.
